Call Rep. Dave Camp, Chairman of the Ways & Means Committee NOW to Release H.R. 589 to the House of Representatives - All Calls Are Logged In By Staffers

Called the Camp office again. The H.R. 1745 has passed the H&W Committee and waiting to be passed to the House. Why is there a waiting process? Fear maybe or he knows it will not be passed in the House.

Left a message for him to get off his fat rear end and pass the 589. We have the money to help the 99ers. If we help in foreign aid, banks and wall street, there is money for the 99ers. The staffer mentioned that many, many 99ers have called. Well, doesn't this tell him that something must be done.

Please continue to call and tell him to pass the 589, now! Try to be nice, my nerves just can't take it anymore.

I want positive news but nothing to report about H.R. 589.

Called Representative Dave Camp's office today. I was told that the bill is sitting in the Ways & Means Committee, same story as usual. Told by staffer to call the Ways & Means Committee for more information. O.K.

Called the W&M Committee, bottom line, it's Camp's decision to pass the bill forward. One person, one person has this decision that millions of us are anxiously waiting for help and ignoring our need. Unbelievable that one person, Camp, can have all this power. This is wrong but nothing we can do about it. Camp is the main problem, not the president not congress, it's Camp, Camp is the main problem.

Question: How long will this bill linger in the W&M Committee?
Answer: Until 2012, when a new Congress is elected.

Will do first thing Monday morning! 112th Republican Congress is a crystal clear example of business as usual just as it was during the Bush/Cheney administration when all 3 houses were Republican majority and NOTHING got done but a RECESSION and 2 WARS and $12 TRILLION in DEBT. President Obama will be re-elected after the do nothing 112 and their lack of progress of introducing ANY jobs bill.. Its a damn shame that the 99ers have to suffer like this but if ALL 3 houses can be attained in 2012???

Thanks for the #. I will be calling first thing Monday morning. Quick question, is Congress back this week before the 4th of July break? I assume since the following week is 4th of July, they will be on yet another weekly vacation.

The House is out next week for a "District Work Session", , they return on July 5. The Senate is off the week of the 4th.

The House has another District week off the week of July 18. In total, there are 19 more working days for Congress until they break the first week of August, and return on Sept. 6, and they aren't even close to an agreement on the debt ceiling or the 2012 budget yet.

Sorry to sound pessimistic, but what is going to happen once it comes out of the W & M Committee? If HR 589 goes to the floor any time in the coming weeks, it is going to get voted down in the GOP controlled House. There is no Republican support for the bill. Once that happens, it is dead, and another bill would have to be written in the House or Senate and the whole process would have to start over again.

At this point, IMO, our only hope is to be included in the current budget / debt ceiling negotiations or wait until they return in September and start debating the extension of the current UE deadlines, AGAIN.
