This is just the beginning of changes in Washington. Republicans have no chance in 2012, they blew it big time. The medicare issue really killed their chances; now they can lick their wounds and start packing home forever.

I know, phillymg! Good news. Looks like people are finally waking up to the GOP agenda. I wish Americans would get as upset about the GOP wanting to turn back civil rights, abolish abortion, global warming, discrimination against gays and pushing their religious morality down our throats as they do Medicare.

I'm hoping too that the public will see that the GOP blanket opposition to taxes primarily boils down to keeping taxes on the rich at historically very,very low levels. It's time for the comfortable to tighten their ever-expanding belts a notch or two. "Shared sacrifice" should begin with those who can more than afford it.
